We are the largest producers and packers of Fiddleheads Greens in North America. We have appeared on TV and radio talk shows, and have been written up in daily newspapers and monthly magazines over the past 20 years. We now would like to work with an upcoming and budding chef. Perhaps this young chef could be from your culinary school, a baking and pastry major, or a culinary graduate within the last two years. So here is a quick way for a young chef to get a lot of notoriety and media attention. If they enter this contest, and their fiddlehead recipe gets chosen by a panel of culinary chefs, and there will be only one winner, they will receive some great prizes. And of course, the winner will be written up by many of the food editors in Canada and the U.S.A. What will you as the young chef of the winning recipe win? 1). You will have a choice of one of the following two travel packages. This section will depend upon how far from our Port Colborne, ON, Canada head quarters you live. 2). You will also receive a one weekend stay at our corporate head quarters in Port Colborne, ON. The first official fiddlehead farm in North America. You will stay in a beautiful stone house, surrounded by ponds and a lot of wild life roaming around. You will be staying in a park like setting with tall fiddlehead fronds all around you, and will probably see wild turkeys and coyotes and deer just roaming around, along with dozens of different species of song birds. 3). A Wine Tour of Niagara, sponsored by Niagara Air Bus. 4) $500.00 in spending money. 5) Work with a famous chef to cook your winning recipe and have this whole event covered by media. What a great way for an up and coming chef to get to be known real fast. And of course, the culinary school of the winning student will get their share of publicity on a national bases. And what does the student have to do in order to participate in this contest? Please take note, that the young chef must be present at the event to cook the winning recipe in order to qualify for the winning prize. If the winner is not present at the event, the first prize will be awarded to the next runner up. Also, whether win or lose, if you participated in this culinary contest, you are cordially invited to attend the ceremonies in Port Colborne, Ontario, Canada. You will need to let us know if you are planning to attend so we can prepare your name badge. Fiddleheads should be in the stores by May 1st, 2008 and submission of recipe no later than May 13, 2008. No exceptions.
